About the Founder
Jason Earle spent five years developing the systems and methods now available to everyone who is awarded a 1-800-GOT-MOLD?™ franchise. In 2003, Jason discovered mold-detection dogs and founded the company that has become 1-800-GOT-MOLD?. Over the course of more than 1,500 inspections, he developed and refined the proprietary Mold Assessment Protocol (MAP), which combines the magic of Mold Dogs™ with the science of infrared thermal imaging, laser particle analysis, electronic moisture detection and laboratory testing. The MAP is now the core of training for every 1-800-GOT-MOLD? franchise partner
Though he began with no knowledge of mold or moisture problems, Jason is now a leading expert. He is an instructor in a course titled, “How to Deal with Moldy Buildings” at Rutgers University, and he has also testified in NJ Superior Court as an expert witness in mold detection. Jason is a founding board member and president of the International Mold Detection Dog Association Inc. (IMDDA), which was recently cited in an EPA white paper about the use of dogs in the detection of indoor air pollutants.
Jason takes mold personally. He grew up with severe allergies and asthma, which disappeared when he left that damp, moldy home. Both of these conditions have recently been tied to mold by the Mayo Clinic, Berkeley Lab and other medical research institutions. Even though he has had the satisfaction of working with over 1,500 families and being paid very well in the process, he’s most excited about the prospects of helping 1,500 families per day through the national expansion of 1-800-GOT-MOLD?.
He is actively involved in philanthropic organizations such as Operation Smile, and is forming The GOT MOLD? Foundation to help people with moldy homes who lack the means to fix them.

Meet Oreo
The best-known canine mold detective in North America, Oreo endured two terms on “doggy death row” in Florida before being rescued by her trainer. After 1,000 hours of training, she joined Jason to become the very first certified Mold Dog™ in the Northeast.
With Jason, Oreo has done over 1,500 mold inspections and has been featured on Good Morning America, Channel 6 Action News and in more than 150 print publications, including a college textbook and two books on working dogs. Jason calls her “the brains behind the business,” but everyone who meets her knows she’s the heart. And, of course, the nose.
